About Our School Psychologist Jobs

Our school psychologists have many duties while on the job. There is a high demand for psychologists to assess and counsel children, as well as to conduct behavioral interventions when necessary. Our staff also collaborates with teachers and parents to help children of all ages and mental abilities succeed.

We help students at all grade levels, by offering them help in the following ways:

Listen to concerns regarding school, academics, and other classroom issues
Advice on concerns about problems outside of school
Help students process their issues and develop solutions
Promote positive and healthy emotions and behaviors
Meet with parents and teachers to develop plans for the students’ well-being
Research and implement learning programs for students
Advise the rest of the school staff with disciplinary issues for troubled students
Administer psychological tests to students who qualify

School Psychologist Job Requirements

To become a school psychologist with Epic Special Education Staffing, you’ll need to meet our education qualifications. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is necessary. Degrees in education, psychology, or sociology are ideal, but other related fields are acceptable.

After you earn your undergraduate degree, you’ll need to earn the following:

Master’s degree in psychology. If possible, you want a degree in school psychology. This specialist degree takes about three years of classes, then a year of internship.
Certification or license. Every state in the US also requires that you have certification or a license to practice psychology as a school psychologist.
