Finally, after a year of a rollercoaster journey with virtual instructions, the schools are steadily reopening, and the students are returning to classrooms! Schools reopening has become an urgent priority since the pandemic. As we all know, school attendance is critical for children’s education and lifetime prospects.
This year COVID-19 remains a challenge, and with the imminent threat of the Delta variant, the parents and educators have one main concern – how do we ensure the health and safety of our children? Hence the “Return to School Roadmap” series being produced by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Roadmap’s goal is to make sure every student has the support and opportunities they need to heal, learn, and grow in their classrooms and create an environment where they belong and can thrive. The Roadmap contains three “Landmark” priorities for each school, district, and state as they work to reengage students.

Maintaining vigilance and adherence to all of these measures is critical for schools and our broader efforts to contain COVID-19, including the development and spread of virus variants and mutations. There is no such thing as zero risks. However, the risks are manageable with robust mitigation strategies. TOGETHER, we need to work toward a sustainable “new normal” right now!
