By Victoria Martin, Recruiter at Epic Special Education Staffing
Real support isn’t something you should have to wonder about when considering school-based contracts. It should be felt from the first day of your contract to the last. At Epic Special Education Staffing, that’s exactly the kind of experience we’re committed to creating. Not just through perks like supportive pay and benefits, but through the kind of ongoing, human-centered care that makes a genuine difference in your day-to-day life as a clinician.
For school-based clinicians, support should go far beyond onboarding paperwork and the occasional check-in email. Whether you’re a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, school psychologist, social worker, or special education professional, the reality is that this work is deeply human, emotionally demanding, and constantly evolving.
You’re managing caseloads, navigating IEPs, supporting students through challenges, collaborating with families and educators, and all while balancing your own well-being. That’s why consistent, year-round support throughout the whole school year matters. Here at Epic Special Education Staffing, we take pride in providing full-year support by creating an experience where clinicians feel guided, valued, and cared for from the moment they start working with us.
We also know that many school-based clinicians have experienced staffing relationships that become largely administrative after placement. Our approach is built differently. We stay connected throughout the school year because supporting clinicians is not limited to helping them find a position. It’s about helping them navigate the realities of working in a school setting and providing resources, guidance, and responsive communication when they need it most.
So, what does full-year support actually look like? Let’s walk through it.
Consistent Support for School-Based Clinicians
One of the most important things we can offer isn’t a perk or a policy, it’s a person. Every clinician at Epic Special Education Staffing is paired with a dedicated Relationship Manager, along with your Recruiter, who serves as your consistent point of contact throughout your assignment. If questions come up, if something feels off with your caseload, or if you just need someone to help you navigate an unexpected situation, your Relationship Manager is there. You’re not filing a ticket or waiting on hold; you’re reaching out directly to someone who knows you and your assignment.
On top of that, our Clinical Managers are available to offer guidance specifically tailored to your work as a special education professional. Whether you need support around IEP documentation, case management, licensure questions, or school-based best practices, you have access to professionals with real clinical expertise to help you think things through. Knowing that type of support exists and knowing exactly who you need to call changes the entire feel of contract work.
For school-based clinicians, having access to people who understand educational environments matters. School schedules, compliance requirements, multidisciplinary collaboration, and student service expectations all create unique challenges. Our support structure is designed with those realities in mind, helping clinicians feel connected throughout the school year rather than left to figure things out on their own.
Support for Your Professional Growth
Special education clinicians are lifelong learners. Staying current in your field isn’t optional; it’s part of what makes you great at what you do. That’s why we invest in your ongoing development alongside your everyday work.
After completing 90 days of service with Epic Special Education Staffing, eligible employees can receive up to $350 annually in reimbursement for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or specialty-related materials. Beyond that, current employees can also submit receipts for maintaining professional licenses and certifications for reimbursement.
Your professional growth matters, and we want to be part of supporting it. When clinicians continue to develop and stay engaged in their field, everyone benefits from it!
For many school-based clinicians, professional development is also about staying prepared for evolving student needs, educational requirements, and best practices. Investing in continuing education helps clinicians build confidence in their roles while continuing to deliver high-quality services throughout the school year.
Benefits That Support Life Outside the Classroom
You’re a whole person, not just a service provider. The support you need doesn’t disappear when the school day ends. That’s why Epic Special Education Staffing offers eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental coverage, because healthcare access is foundational to everything else.
For full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week, 401(k) participation is available beginning the first of the month after your hire date, giving you a way to build toward your future from early in your assignment.
We also recognize that rest and recovery are not luxuries. Paid sick time follows applicable federal, state, and local guidelines based on your location. And for employees on assignment during contracted dates, Epic Special Education Staffing offers six paid holidays each year: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. These built-in pauses throughout the school year are a small but meaningful way of acknowledging that you need and deserve time to recharge.
The Little Things That Remind You You’re Valued
Not all support shows up in a benefits document. Sometimes it’s the unexpected moment mid-semester when a surprise gift arrives and reminds you that someone is thinking about you beyond how many IEPs you have completed.
Throughout the year, Epic Special Education Staffing sends seasonal quarterly surprise gifts to clinicians. In professions built around pouring into others, it matters to us that you feel just as cared for.
Building Community Through Referrals
Many of the best clinicians in special education know other great clinicians! If you know someone who would thrive in a school-based contract, Epic Special Education Staffing offers a $1,000 referral bonus to anyone (current employees included) who refers a candidate who is placed in a full-time contract position. This isn’t just a recruitment program. It’s an invitation to help grow a community of dedicated professionals who support one another and the students they serve.
A staffing partner should also help clinicians feel connected to a broader professional community. School-based work can sometimes feel isolating, especially when navigating new districts, teams, or student populations. By staying engaged with our clinicians throughout the year and encouraging referrals from trusted colleagues, we’re helping build a network of professionals who understand and support one another.
Support That Goes the Distance for School-Based Clinicians
School-based work is demanding in ways that are hard to fully describe to someone who hasn’t worked in the industry before. You’re navigating complex systems, meeting students where they are emotionally and developmentally, collaborating across various disciplines, and managing the weight of staying compliant, oftentimes all at once. The last thing you should have to worry about is whether your staffing agency has your back.
At Epic Special Education Staffing, full-year support means you don’t have to wonder. From your Recruiter to your Relationship Manager to your Clinical Manager, from paid holidays to professional development reimbursement, and from your benefits package, we’re committed to being here for you through all of it.
Our mission has always centered on supporting the professionals who help students learn, communicate, grow, and reach their goals. That commitment extends beyond placement day. By providing ongoing support, school-based expertise, and dedicated points of contact throughout the year, we help clinicians focus on what brought them to this work in the first place: supporting students and school communities.
When our clinicians feel genuinely supported, they show up more fully for the students and communities counting on them.
