Ed Department Issues New Guidance On Special Education During Pandemic

As of today, we don’t quite know when the pandemic will end! For the majority of us, we seem to have adjusted (at least a little) to this “new normal” even though there are still dozens of questions, especially as it relates to Special Education. Yes, we have heard that school will be starting in the Fall (whether in person or by way of ZOOM), and with that, the Education Department has issued a New Guidance on Special Education during the pandemic. The guidance comes in response to inquiries about how procedures should be handled in the COVID-19 environment.

Officials have acknowledged, yet again, that services for students with disabilities may look different than what it did a year ago – but with collaboration between parents and educators, the needs of students can be met.
